Storybook Street

Storybook Street

The Early Learning Coalition’s FREE family-friendly, literacy-meets-the-arts extravaganza is back in 2022! This year’s imagination destination will be an in-person event designed for children ages birth to 7.

November 5, 2022
9am-12pm

Suncoast Technical College
4748 S. Beneva Road
Sarasota, FL 34233

*Free parking. Please park in the lot along Proctor Road

Storybook Street will once again feature dance, drama, art, music, movement and more as we partner with our local arts agencies to bring books to life. Many performances will include engaging, hands-on, age-appropriate activities for your children to enjoy. Books will be distributed at each arts booth.

No registration. Just show up with a smile!

The first 400 families will have an opportunity to come away with more than a dozen new books, a swag bag of goodies and meaningful, memorable moments to help foster an early love of reading. To enjoy the full experience, families may spend about an hour and a half visiting booths and collecting books. We recommend you arrive sometime before 10:30am.

Children are welcome to dress up as their favorite storybook character.

We are excited to partner with Sarasota’s premier arts community as we showcase the many talents of artists from:

  • Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall
  • Sarasota Orchestra
  • Venice Theatre
  • Sarasota Ballet
  • Ringling College of Art and Design
  • Asolo Repertory Theatre
  • Circus Arts Conservatory
  • Ringling Museum ROAR program
  • Florida Studio Theatre
  • The Players Centre
  • Venice Symphony
  • Music Compound
  • Irish Dance Academy of Sarasota
  • CreArte Latino
  • Sarasota High School Theatre
  • Sarasota County Libraries

An artistic literary adventure awaits your arrival!
