It’s An Imagination Destination!
Just take a right onto Reading Road, a left on Literacy Lane, and follow the sights, sounds and signs to STORYBOOK STREET.
The Early Learning Coalition of Sarasota County is excited to collaborate with local arts and culture organizations to bring books to life. Designed with little ones in mind, our FREE, family friendly, fun-filled, drive-thru book giveaway will take place on Saturday, April 24th from 9:00 to noon at Ed Smith Stadium in Sarasota.
The event, or more like an extravaganza, is ideal for children between the ages of birth to 7. It will feature dance, drama, art, music, movement and more. Each car will drive away with at least a dozen new children’s books, a swag bag of goodies and meaningful, memorable moments to help foster an early love of reading.
Children are welcome to dress up as their favorite storybook character! And, to add to the children’s excitement, Sarasota High School Theatre Group will bring some of those favorite characters to life, meeting and greeting their little fans as they wait in the car queue.
We are excited to partner with Sarasota’s premier arts community as we showcase the many talents of artists from Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall, Sarasota Orchestra, Sarasota Ballet, Venice Theatre, Ringling College, Ringling Museum ROAR program, The Players Centre, Venice Symphony, Music Compound and the Irish Dance Academy of Sarasota.
Our list of collaborators continues with the Baltimore Orioles, Sarasota County Libraries,
Siesta Key Kiwanis Club, Gulf Coast Latin Chamber of Commerce, Pi Beta Phi Sarasota-Manatee Alumnae Club, Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office and Sarasota County Fire Department.

La Coalición de Aprendizaje Temprano del Condado de Sarasota se complace en colaborar con organizaciones de artes locales y culturales para dar vida a libros de cuentos. Diseñado pensando en los pequeños de casa, nuestro evento es GRATIS, ideal para toda la familia, lleno de diversiones y todo desde su auto se y llevará a cabo en el Estadio Ed Smith de Sarasota el sábado 24 de abril de las 9am hasta el mediodía.
Este evento, que es mas bien un gran espectáculo, es ideal para niños pequeños hasta los 7 años. Habrá danza, teatro, arte, música y más. Cada familia recibirá al menos 12 libros nuevos de niños, una bolsa con sorpresas y recuerdos memorables para fomentar el amor por la lectura a temprana edad.
¡Los niños también podrán venir vestidos de su personaje de libro de cuentos favorito!
Y para hacerlo aun mas emocionante, estudiantes de Teatro de la Escuela Secundaria de Sarasota darán vida a esos personajes favoritos para dar la bienvenida a sus pequeños fanáticos mientras esperan en sus autos.
Estamos contentos de colaborar con la comunidad artística de Sarasota para disfrutar de los talentos de artistas del Salón de Artes Van Wezel, Orquesta de Sarasota, Ballet de Sarasota, Teatro de Venice, Colegio de Artes Ringling, programa ROAR del Museo Ringling, Centro de Artes The Players, la Sinfónica de Venice, Music Compound y la Academia de Danza Irlandesa de Sarasota.
Nuestros colaboradores también incluyen las bibliotecas del Condado de Sarasota, el Club Siesta Key Kiwanis, la Cámara de Comercio Latina de la Costa del Golfo, el Club Pi Beta Phi Sarasota-Manatee Alumnae, y la Oficina del Alguacil y Departamento de Bomberos del Condado de Sarasota.
