The Early Learning Coalition of Sarasota County’s Pre-Apprenticeship Program is a one-of-a-kind, comprehensive training opportunity for new preschool teachers entering the field, ages 16+. No experience necessary. Taught through the Aspire Teacher Training Institute, the ELC’s specialized training hub, you can access the Pre-Apprenticeship Program year-round as enrollment is ongoing.
What is the Pre-Apprenticeship Program?
Much like a college, our Pre-Apprenticeship program offers a structured pathway to professional success, but with a unique twist—we do it all on our own. With in-depth understanding of the field, our early childhood specialists tailor the program to meet the individual needs of up-and-coming early educators. Equipping participants with the essential skills required to teach in a classroom, the program takes you step by step through the mandatory DCF 40-hour introductory childcare course.
With our virtual courses, you’ll enjoy a flexible schedule that lets you work at your own pace and achieve better work-life balance. You’ll also benefit from one-on-one mentoring, workshops on professionalism and interview skills, and a career pathways component that guides new teachers in acquiring the skills and education they need to enhance their abilities. Plus, job placement assistance is available, so you can earn while you learn!
