Looking for fun, easy activities to enjoy with your lil’ turkeys over Thanksgiving break?
Here are 10 ideas for you and your preschoolers!
1. Turkey Handprints: Trace and paint your child’s hands to make colorful turkey art—easy and memorable!
2. Leaf Collage: Collect fallen leaves outside and glue them onto paper to make beautiful Thanksgiving placemats.
3. Mini Pumpkin Painting: Give each child a small pumpkin to paint in festive colors—perfect as table decor.
4. Thankful Tree: Cut out paper leaves, let your child write (or you write) what they’re thankful for, and stick them to a paper tree on the wall.
5. Turkey Trot: Create a mini obstacle course in your yard and let them “trot” like turkeys to get their wiggles out!
6. Stuff the Turkey: Use a large paper bag as a “turkey” and let your child toss in crumpled paper “stuffing” for a fun game.
7. Storytime Feast: Read a Thanksgiving story together, then pretend to “cook” and serve up a make believe feast with toy food.
8. Thanksgiving Story Circle: Let each child share something they’re thankful for, inspired by the story.
9. Turkey Puppet Show: Make simple turkey puppets from paper bags or socks so your child can act out scenes from the story.
10. Book and Craft Combo: Cut-out “thankful notes” to remind everyone in your family what they’re grateful for.
We hope these activities add joy and creativity to your holiday time together! Enjoy these special moments with your little ones, and make this festive season full of family engagement.
