The ELC’s Literacy Buddy Program is a heartwarming initiative where volunteers help nurture a love for reading in young children across Sarasota County. With over 300 dedicated volunteers, this program pairs individuals with preschool children to exchange drawings, letters, and new books throughout the school year. 

The goal is simple: build home libraries for children who have little to no access to books,
